3 Hours Trek

This short jungle trek with Ecotourism Bukit Lawang will give you a chance to spot semi-wild Orangutans at the entrance of Gunung Leuser National Park in Sumatra. If you’re lucky, you might even see more incredible wildlife!

It’s the perfect option for travelers on a tight schedule, families with young children or people who don’t feel fit enough for a longer trek!

Trip preparation

Itinerary

After breakfast, you’ll be picked up at your accommodation by your guide around 9 am.


You’ll walk along the river, pass the rubber plantations and finally enter Gunung Leuser National Park in North-Sumatra. If you're lucky, you’ll get a chance to see the semi-wild Orangutans and maybe even Thomas Leaf Monkeys or Pig Tail Macaques!


After a refreshing fruit snack, you’ll keep walking through the jungle looking for more amazing wildlife.


End your jungle trek by walking back to Bukit Lawang or opt for a fun rafting experience on the Bohorok River! Your guide will bring you back to your accommodation around 12-1 pm.
