Bukit Lawang is a small riverside village located at the entrance of Gunung Leuser National Park in Sumatra, Indonesia. Since it can be difficult to buy specific items here, we made you a list of all the things you need to bring to the jungle!

There is no ATM machine in Bukit Lawang, therefore we recommend bringing enough cash to pay for your accommodation, food, trek and other activities. The closest ATM is in Bahorok (10 km from Bukit Lawang) and takes only Visa and Mastercard. Some guesthouses accept creditcards, however they charge 3-5% per transaction. There is a currency exchange office in Bukit Lawang.
